REPUBLIKA ARCHITEKTURY has designed a 180 m2 apartment located on the top floor in a high end building not far from the city center of Warsaw, Poland. From the apartment one can enjoy the best views in town as it overlooks the Vistula River and the National Stadium on one side and the Old Town and The University of Warsaw Library on the other. The main aim was to create a luxury, spacious and ageless space with a feeling of warmth and tranquility. To achieve this the firm decided to combine clear lines and simplicity of form with timeless materials: oak floors, carrara marble, silk wallpapers , natural veneers and leathers. The earth tone colour palette is enriched through navy blue and orange accents. The interior is simple yet sophisticated. It creates the atmosphere that is both comfortable and aesthetically stimulating. Set in the Jazz Age of love and ambition, F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic The Great Gatsby comes back to life in a truly opulent showcase of period authenticity and lavish lifestyle. Designed by Baz Luhrmann’s wife, Catherine Martin, the production called for 42 individual sets, taking her team just 14 weeks to build, aping and decorate Gatsby’s mansion. Designs for the residence were inspired by the great 20th century houses of Long Island’s North Shore. Where as Gatsby’s bedroom has traditional arched windows, with polished hardwoods, a harlequin-pattern wall covering of silk crisscrossed with ribbons of wood and a gray and gold Art Deco styled rug. The sitting room features a vibrant mix of styes, from European Deco to Hollywood Regency, evoking a fashionable luxury. via Architectural Digest
