The Junction Flea, located at Dundas Street West and Keele Street, organized by SMASH owner Paul Mercer and Micah Lenahan, is Toronto’s only west end flea market. Held on the second Sunday of every month from 9-4pm, rain or shine, the Junction Flea features a mix of 70 independent vendors selling a range of goods from antiques, to handmade craft items and vintage clothing.
Paul and Micah told me that The Junction Flea grew out of the network of connections they collectively had and decided to pull their resources to create a unique experience for visitors. This year, TAS has been the main supporter of the Flea, donating the site and shipping containers to the various vendors for shelter and retail space. The site attracts more than 2000 visitors a month, maintaining its local flare as a destination spot on the west end.
