The residence stands on the northeast corner, among a series of old and new structures, projecting a closed exterior with a series of horizontal windows to maintain a sense of privacy for the client.

To emphasize the scenic views of the forest and blue sky above, the west side of the second floor is kept open with large horizontal windows.

Spa Reflection
The form of a mountain and the shape of the roof create a detached building that are reflected in the hot spring spa’s water surface, bringing together the internal wall and the form of a ceiling.

Layers of Stairs
The upwards and downwards motion of the interior is center around a spiraling staircase positioned in the middle of the residence.

Organic with minimal edges
Situated on a sloping hill the residence mimics the surrounding landscape into the interior design.
