I totally forgot that I had reserved this book at the library…You are a Badass, How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life byJen SinceroJen Sincero. I felt a little embarrassed reading this on the GO bus back and forth to the Toronto, but I was quite surprised at how easy this book was to read and to grasp.
If you’ve read any self-help book this echoes a lot of them. It talks about the Law of Attraction which The Secret is all about. It has moments of being present and letting go of your ego, that Eckhart Tolle preaches about in The Power of Now and mentions forgiveness and being connected to the higher power that the big ol’Bible is based on.
Where the real insight came from for me was all about money. The hustle, the grind, the saving, the spending…there’s never enough. But in this book, there’s an entire chapter dedicated to it and the first rule of wealth consciousness is that it comes from a place of abundance and not lack. That my beliefs are the key to my financial success. I have to believe that I can have what I desire and that it already exists and all I have to do is go out there and get it. So simple, right? Jen seems to think so. Here’s a passage from her book that talks in more detail about it:
In order to create wealth, you must bring yourself into energetic alignment with the money you desire to manifest.
Three people can do the same thing for a living, let’s say they’re chiropractors for example. One makes fifty thousand a year, one makes one hundred thousand a year, one makes one million dollars a year. Is the guy who makes a million dollars that much better than the guy who makes fifty thousand? And how do you put a price tag on his betterness? Is the way he cracks someone’s back nine hundred and fifty thousand dollars a year times better than the guy who makes fifty thousand dollars? He may be more skilled or have more experience (but then again, he may not), but what it ultimately comes down to is his decision of his worth. He is operating at a one-million-dollar frequency so that’s what he’s charging. And getting.
